The Gold Coast Suns led by captain Gary Ablett defeated the Kangaroos by 43 points in their first win at Etihad Stadium. North supporters jeered every time Ablett touched the ball, so in response in the final minutes of the match he raised the ball to the crowd. The win places the club in fifth position on the AFL ladder.
